“Peace isn’t found in the noise of the world, but in the quiet corners we create for ourselves.”
🕊️ The Story of Vintage Norah: 1918 to Today
My journey into the world of paper and heritage didn’t start with a craft kit—it started with a legacy.
The Heart: Norah’s Legacy (1918–2012)
Born in Birmingham in 1918, my grandmother Norah was a woman of quiet grace and a “collector” of life’s beautiful moments. She was the daughter of a master boxmaker & cooper, and perhaps that is where our shared love for paper and structure began.
Norah was a woman who found joy in the details—from her renowned collection of 239 hats (93 years of collecting and 93 years to sort through!) to the hidden “Scribbles of Faith” we found tucked away in her memoirs after she passed. Every bag, glove, and scrap of lace she gathered told a story of a century lived with intention.
Norah came from the same corners of the West Midlands as Edith Holden. Long before I knew her name, I was breathing in the same Warwickshire air and falling in love with the same hawthorn and kingfishers.
Vintage Norah is my way of carrying that 1900s legacy into 2026. It’s more than paper; it’s a shared history. 🕊️
The Journey: From Scent to Soul
The “Quiet Corner” you see today has grown and evolved, much like the gardens Norah loved. In December 2021, during what I call my “wax melt era,” Vintage Norah was honored to be chosen as a #SBS (Small Business Sunday) Winner by Theo Paphitis of Dragon’s Den.
While that win was a wonderful confidence boost for my small business, it also taught me that people were craving more than just a product—they were craving a feeling. They wanted the scents of a garden in bloom and the tactile peace of a handmade journal.
The Vision: Your Quiet Corner.
Today, Vintage Norah is a sanctuary for those who wish to slow down. Whether through my physical KDP journals (for those who want a break from the digital world) or my instant-download Studio kits, I aim to provide you with the tools to document your own “gatherings.”
I believe that every piece of paper is a place to hold a memory. I am so glad you are here to help me keep this 1918 legacy alive, one “Quiet Corner” at a time.
