What a treasure……

ETSY TREASURY.

For those of you unfamiliar with Etsy, one of the wonderful things you can do is curate a treasury of items which you pick from other etsy stores. It’s a wonderful feeling when this happens, mainly because it is something which has been chosen by someone you don’t know!

You feel recognised and worthy and it is almost confirmation that you must be doing something right!!!!

So, this week I am feeling very ‘treasured’. I have had items included in two treasuries.

Recrafted bracelet. Mulberry beading

One with a bracelet chosen from ‘Vintage Norah Recraft’ and the other was a knitting pattern from ‘Vintage Norah.’ ( Yes, you have read it right….there are two stores on there. I wasn’t able to list the recrafted jewellery in the same store as vintage because of it being handmade.

Original Wendy knitting pattern No 605. Lady's Jumper. Vintage 1950s era

This is one of the reasons why I’m feeling especially pleased with myself because the bracelet is one I have made.

Thank you ladies for the inclusion.

So, pat on the back for me and big ‘GO FOR IT’ if you have a crafty talent to offer!

MORE-ah about NORAH!!!

WHO’S THAT GIRL!!

Norah photos

Thought it was about time I shared with you a little background about Norah.

She was the daughter of a cooper (made barrels) and for those of you familiar with the tv series ‘Steptoe & Son’, her homelife as a young girl was very similar to this comical duo(including the horse and cart), albeit a good 30years or so before it came to our screens.

Her mother dVLUU L200 / Samsung L200ied when she was just six years old and through her personal notes, she has described in great detail of not only what happened on the day of the funeral but also how she felt. Someone so young who carried a light for her mom all through her life.

Poetry,oh my! Many a scribble on scraps of paper, backs of old envelopes, paper bags….many leaning towards her strong faith which held her hand through life….here is one which she sent to me many years ago. I keep it in my purse and just three days before she passed, we sat and she read it out loud,

‘Loves perfume’

Stains the fabric of our lives,ย it is unremovable, it spreads, forming many different patterns.

This is only possible because God was the First to sprinkle this lovely fragrance on us, that will last for eternity.

Norah was known for always wearing a hat, clip ons and accesories….hence why ‘Vintage Norah’ is with you now. ( Although, there is only a small selection of her hat collection which was reaching around the 250 mark at one point!). I recently recieved a photo from ‘google earth’ and she has been caught on there coming out of her house and…adjusting her hat!!

And so, this is just a little snippet. All the items here carry so much history and have been a part of this ladies life for 93years. It feels right ,that they should be given the send off they are having and Norah would have loved all this blogging and etsy and facebook malarky.

Please enjoy it all. So far, gloves and scarves have been sent throughout the UK and one of her beautiful hats is on its way to America. Wonderful.
